Honors English 11 (C block)

  • You have a vocab quiz on Wednesday--study those words!
  • You should finish reading chapter 7 of Strength in What Remains. Remember, there's a lot of information, and you'll do some mind mapping on Wednesday. To prepare, put sticky notes on pages to remind you when you see information about:
    • Deo’s background
    • Hutu/Tutsi—Deo’s understanding (and how it changed)
    • Burundian history—Deo’s understanding (and how it changed)
    • Rwandan history—Deo’s understanding (and how it changed)
    • Memory
    • Education
    • Contrasts and contradictions
    • Tough questions—Deo's
    • Your questions
English 11 (D block)
  • You have a vocab quiz Wednesday--study for it!
  • Your full project--visual and explanation--is due Friday.
Creative Writing (E block)
  • Collect words! From everywhere! By next Tuesday, you should have a WHOLE LOT, from all kinds of different contexts, written in your journal.
  • Start working on your writing exercise--poem. It's due next Tuesday, but I'm going to give you a story to read on Thursday, so get started on the other stuff!
Honors English 12 (G block)
  • Vocab quiz--Thursday!
  • Continue to work on your Creative Nonfiction essay.
